More than 1,150 employees at Pearl Global Industries Limited paused their work for something far more valuable than a routine meeting.
They paused to learn how cancer can be detected before it becomes life-threatening.
As part of Project Sunkalp, C. S. Shanthi conducted a Cancer Awareness Talk that emphasized one powerful message: early detection saves lives.
The session covered four essential areas of cancer prevention and screening:
• iBreastExam – an advanced, radiation-free breast screening that helps identify breast abnormalities at an early stage.
• Pap Smear – a simple screening test that can detect cervical cell changes before they develop into cervical cancer.
• Oral Examination – because a persistent mouth ulcer, white or red patch, or unexplained sore should never be ignored.
• Skin Cancer Awareness – recognizing changes in moles or unusual skin lesions can lead to earlier diagnosis and better treatment outcomes.
Cancer often develops silently. Many people feel perfectly healthy until the disease has already progressed.
That is why awareness matters. A few minutes spent learning the warning signs—and taking part in regular screening—can make the difference between early treatment and late diagnosis.
Reaching over 1,150 employees in a single workplace means more than educating individuals. It means empowering families, strengthening communities, and creating a ripple effect of awareness that extends far beyond the workplace.
Knowledge is the first step. Screening is the next. Together, they save lives.
